I have been getting in the habit of getting up at five a.m. so that I can read my scriptures and then write. This morning as I re-read the battle of Coriantumr and Shiz I was struck with the thought that even after all these years we still haven't learned from the mistakes of the past and that scares me. It scares me that people can get such evil thoughts in their heads and then call them the will of God.
We are in a Battle now that I along with many feel that it will not be over until the end. I worry that that battle will one day be taken to our very streets as it is in other countries.
I love my grandchildren and fear the day that they might have to see the same devastation that other children in other countries. The Lord has given us many warnings to get out acts together and I fear that it's not only other people who are not hearing, but our own who chose to ignore. I pray that I will not ignore them.

Last week we went to Texas to see Gregory get his wings. He bought our tickets to fly out because we could not afford them. This economy has really stopped building in it's tracks. Anyway, we went to the USS Lexington. It's an aircraft carrier that's been in dry docks since the seventies. We went through it and saw a documentary about a fighter pilot. They called a truce with all the countries in the world so that they could learn from each other. A group of the very best pilots and their ground crews from every nation came together in the Las Vegas desert to play war games with each other. At first the pilot they were following was very cocky. After being shot down and sent back to base he started to be a little humbled by the strength and abilities of all the other pilots. It was a very interesting movie and made me realize just how deadly war is. This is not to say that I didn't realize this before, but I guess when we don't see the effects of war anywhere but t.v., it's hard to imagine the actual realities of war.
After the movie Jack, (my grandson who's four) was acting out the wild hand moments of the ground crew as they brought the air crafts in. He walked around saying stuff from the movie like, "In 1944---." What a funny kid.
We had a lot of fun in Corpus Cristie. Greg and his family are now heading to North Carolina after they spend some time here visiting with family. We are really excited to spend more time with them because we won't see them again for awhile.
